Site and Foundation Requirements for Installation
The success of a concrete batching plant installation depends heavily on selecting the right site and ensuring adequate supporting infrastructure — factors that directly influence both production efficiency and operating costs.
Ground bearing capacity is particularly critical for stationary plants; a soil study should confirm the ground can safely support the combined weight of silos and mixer units, with soil improvement or piled foundations applied where necessary. Mobile plants typically require only a compacted, level surface.
Electrical infrastructure is essential for uninterrupted operation. Large-capacity plants draw substantial power, so transformer capacity and grid connection should be engineered in advance. In areas with unreliable grid access, backup generator capacity should be part of the planning.
Water supply is needed both for concrete production and for equipment/vehicle washdown; a reliable, sufficiently high-flow water source — whether municipal supply, well, or tanker support — is essential.
Access infrastructure shouldn't be overlooked: heavy transit mixers and aggregate trucks need roads that remain usable in all weather conditions, including rain and winter months, to maintain production continuity. Sufficient, accessible storage space for aggregate and cement stock directly affects daily operational flow, and undersized storage areas are a common — and avoidable — bottleneck in otherwise well-planned installations.
